Nilufar Ruxillayeva: The mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassavi was built in the city of Turkestan at the end of the 14th century by the order of Amir Temur. Ahmad Yassavi Mausoleum in Turkestan is a rare example of medieval architecture.

It was named in honor of Ahmed Yassavi, an ancient Turkic-speaking poet famous throughout the Eastern world who created in the 12th century, the founder of the Yassaviya order of Sufism. Yassavi is his nickname.

The mausoleum of Khwaja Ahmed Yassavi is located in the northeast of the present city of Turkistan (formerly known as Hazrat Turkistan), an ancient caravan trade center, formerly known as Hazret. Located near Yassi in the southern part of Kazakhstan, it is now one of the archaeological sites.
The medieval buildings of the archaeological area, including other tombs, mosques, and the remains of baths, are characteristic of the social and educational environment of that time. To the north of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmad Yassavi, the restored part of the fortress wall in the 1970s separates the historical area from the modern city development.
