Niloy Hasan Shamim has launched several impactful initiatives aimed at making the youth of Bangladesh more employment-oriented and self-reliant. Recognizing the critical issue of unemployment, he is determined to address the challenges faced by educated individuals struggling to find suitable jobs.

Speaking about the issue, Niloy Hasan Shamim remarked, “Unemployment causes significant personal, social, and national problems. Many educated individuals in Bangladesh face immense frustration and mental distress due to the lack of opportunities that align with their qualifications.”

A Growing Unemployment Crisis

Bangladesh faces a staggering unemployment rate among its educated youth. According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, in 2021, nearly 800,000 graduates and postgraduates were unemployed. Among them, postgraduate unemployment stood at 12%, while higher secondary and secondary-level unemployment were 8.89% and 2.82%, respectively.
Historical data further illustrates the severity of the problem. A report by the Economic Intelligence Unit in 2014 revealed that 47% of unemployed individuals held university degrees. The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies reported an alarming unemployment rate of 66% in 2017.

These statistics highlight the grim reality for many graduates who remain jobless after completing their education. Unable to secure work, some resort to menial jobs far below their qualifications, while others return to their villages, burdened by frustration and despair.

Initiatives to Combat Unemployment

Niloy Hasan Shamim is actively working to change this narrative. He offers free courses on in-demand skills such as digital marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media security. Shamim believes these skills can empower youth to earn a sustainable income, even from the comfort of their homes.

“Those who genuinely want to learn and apply these skills can earn a significant amount every month,” Shamim said.

A Digital Entrepreneur Making Waves

Shamim’s journey began modestly with his own Facebook fan page, “Niloy Hasan Shamim.” Over time, his expertise and reach expanded into freelancing platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. He has also gained recognition as a content creator on YouTube, where he shares valuable insights and knowledge.

Today, Niloy Hasan Shamim is a well-known figure across various social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. His work in digital marketing and freelancing serves as an inspiration for countless young people aspiring to carve out their own paths in the digital economy.

Through his initiatives, Niloy Hasan Shamim is not only addressing the pressing issue of unemployment but also paving the way for a more self-sufficient and skilled generation in Bangladesh.
