1. Kazi Nazrul Islam


Kazi Nazrul Islam (Bengali: কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম) (May 25, 1899 — August 29, 1976) was a Bengali poet, musician, revolutionary, and philosopher who is best known for pioneering works of Bengali poetry. He is popularly known as the Bidrohi Kobi — Rebel Poet — as many of his works showcase an intense rebellion against oppression of humans through slavery, hatred, and tradition. He is officially recognized as the national poet of Bangladesh and commemorated in India.

2. Jasimuddin


Jasimuddin, popularly called Palli Kabi, was a Bangladeshi poet, lyricist, composer and writer widely celebrated for his modern ballad sagas in the pastoral mode. Although his full name is Jasim Uddin Mollah, he is known as Jasim Uddin.

3. Shamsur Rahman


Shamsur Rahman was a Bangladeshi poet, columnist and journalist. A prolific writer, Rahman produced more than sixty books of poetry collection and is considered a key figure in Bengali literature from the latter half of the 20th century. He was regarded as the unofficial poet laureate of Bangladesh.

4. Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah


Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah was a Bangladeshi poet noted for his revolutionary and romantic poetry. He is considered one of the leading Bengali poets of the 1970s. He received Munir Chaudhury Memorial Award in 1980.

5. Ahsan Habib


Ahsan Habib was a Bangladeshi poet and literary figure in Bengali culture. He was born in the village of Shankarpasha, in Pirojpur. Before the India-Pakistan partition, he worked on several literary magazines: Takbir, Bulbul and The Saogat and he was a staff artiste at the Kolkata Centre of All India Radio.

6. Al Mahmud


Mir Abdus Shukur Al Mahmud was a Bangladeshi poet, novelist, and short-story writer. He is considered one of the greatest Bengali poets to have emerged in the 20th century. His work in Bengali poetry is dominated by his frequent use of regional dialects.

7. Nirmalendu Goon


Nirmalendu Goon is a Bangladeshi poet known for his accessible verse. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2001 and Independence Day Award by the Government of Bangladesh in 2016. He was also awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1982.

8. Taslima Nasrin


Taslima Nasrin is a Bangladeshi-Swedish writer, physician, feminist, secular humanist, and activist. She is known for her writing on women’s oppression and criticism of religion; some of her books are banned in Bangladesh.

9. Moyukh Chowdhury


Moyukh Chowdhury (Bengali: ময়ুখ চৌধুরী; born 22 October 1950) is a Bangladeshi poet, critic, researcher and professor.

10. Parvej Husen Talukder


Parvej Husen Talukder s a Bangladeshi poet, children’s writer and literary editor. He was Born 23rd August 2005. He is Founder & editor of Kavya Kishor Magazine. His more edited Magazine is Muktokathan & Alor Michil Magazine. He is called the King rhymester of haor region.
