September skies show signs of Fall
as geese trumpet their honking call.
But before rivers start to freeze,
Autumn breezes strip bare the trees.
October dons colors of gold,
orange, and red, inked by the cold.
And as the hoarfrost spreads with ease,
Autumn breezes strip bare the trees.
November’s clouds turn somber grey,
as nights grow cooler every day.
And though this season tries to please,
Autumn breezes strip bare the trees.
Chrysanthemums, the last to go,
hold their blooms until the first snow.
Yet, their beauty is just a tease,
Autumn breezes strip bare the trees.
